Immigrants and their supporters march down International Blvd. in Oakland, CA on May 1, 2006 (MayDay). The march was called as part of a national day of action which included a one day general strike and student school walkout in opposition to legislation pending in U.S. Congress which would make being an undocumented immigrant a felony. Marchers demanded amnesty for immigrant workers and the right to become U.S. citizens. ------------------------------------------------------- |
